This Southern Tiwa Pueblo was established about 1300 AD. The Pueblo and its Spanish Mission Church complex were important sites along the Camino Real by 1614 was destroyed during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, and inhabitants sought refuge among the Hopi village in Arizona. It was occupied until 1748.
