The Jicarilla Apache Tribe commemorated the Centenial Anniversary of the present reservation on February 11, 1987. The Jicarilla Apache Centennial Wagon Trek, a 200 mile journey from Cimarron to Dulce, was undertaken to acknowledge earlier homelands around Cimarron, Taos and Abiquiú.
