(1841-45) original site 2 miles northwest. The Methodist college, opened November 1, 1841, with the Rev. T. C. Thornton as president, followed by the The onorable D. O. Shattuck. Removed to Jackson, Louisiana as The Centenary College of Louisiana, 1845.
