Located 525 yards west on Tyree Access Road is the home of fiddler Uncle Jimmy Thompson, first performer of the Grand Ole Opry on November 28, 1925, as well as the garage in which he kept his Model- T Ford panel truck, and the open well he dug by hand. He died in 1931 and is buried in La Guardo Cemetery, 704 yards south on Wood's Ferry Road.
