Arriving here from Murfreesboro with the 2nd, 8th, 9th, and 11th Kentucky Cavalry, Stoner's Cavalry Bn. and Cobb's Btry., Col. John Hunt Morgan added to his strength Hanson's Infantry Brigade. Clearing Lebanon at 2:00 p.m., they ferried and swam the Cumberland River at 10:00 p.m., attacking Hartsville at 3:00 a.m. and defeated Dumont's Federal Brigade.
