On October 18, 1877, at residence of Col. Mike Burke, 673 Shelby,
Superintendent of Miss. and Tenn. RR, which was connected only with RR office and home of
Col. H.A. Montgomery at Poplar and Bellevue. Erected 1976 by South Central Bell Telephone Co.
In commemoration of invention of the telephone, March 10, 1876.
