To the intrepid John Peter Salling, 1742. Captured on the Mississippi, imprisoned in New Orleans, returned on foot home to Virginia via South Carolina, after ship capture by pirates 1742. Left four children and over eleven grandchildren. Marker by Hugenot Society of Manakin, 1972.
