Founded 1810, its organizational sermon was preached by Rev. Samuel Finley on June 10. Descendants of its founders live in the vicinity. Its third pastor, Rev. Thomas Hall, organized in 1815 the Rock Creek Bible Society, which still distributes scriptures without note or comment.
