Haywood County Established 1823; named in honor of Judge John Haywood. Established 1823; named in honor of Judge John Haywood. Judge on the Supreme Court of Errors and Appeals, 1816-1826; known as The Father of Tennessee History. Crockett County Established 1871; named in honor of David Crockett. Tennessee frontiersman. He represented Tennessee in Congress from 1827 to 1831 & from 1833 to 1835. Moving to Texas, he was killed at the Alamo Massacre in 1836. Erected by Tennessee Historical Commission.
