This Baptist Church is one of the oldest church buildings in Tennessee. Drew Harrell hewed the logs and assisted the Rev. Tidence Lane to erect the building in the winter of 1795-96. Lane is buried near Whitesburg, TN.
Big Spring Church was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 1975.
