Anderson County Established 1801; named in honor of Senator Joseph Anderson (1797 to 1815). Formerly judge of the Territory South of the River Ohio, 1791-96; later, Comptroller of the Treasury under President Madison. Campbell County Established 1806; named in honor of Col. Arthur Campbell. Member of the Virginia House of Burgesses; Commanded 70th Regiment Virginia Militia in The Revolution ; Commissioner for negotiation of Indian Treaties in 1781. Erected by Tennessee Historical Commission.
