The rolling grasslands around Clayton Lake were once a domain of the huge buffalo herds that ranged the Great Plains. The tracks of the dinosaurs who once ruled the area are embedded in the rock at nearby Clayton Lake which is now stocked with rainbow trout, channel catfish, bass and walleye.
