This spectacular site on the Pajarito Plateau is located in the reservation of the Santa Clara Pueblo. It includes a pueblo on the mesa top and rooms cut from the volcanic rock. Puyé, occupied from about 1250 to 1550, is considered the ancestral home of the Santa Clara and other Tewa-speaking pueblos.
