This building (ca. 1851), formerly the headquarters of the Delta Democrat Times, was immortalized in 1952 by Hodding Carter in Where Main Street Meets the River, The memoir of this Pulitzer Prize-winning editor who stood for racial justice and religious tolerance. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1962.
