Historical Marker
    4-story plus raised basement, brick building with classical details. A 2-story classical entrance porch features 4 Modified Ionic columns. A cornice runs around building just below the top floor and a smaller one above the top floor windows. annex and jail plus additions have been built on the square over the years.-1991 - ADA improvements including elevator and ramps-1991 - Other renovations including installation of HVAC. Architects were Atlee B. Ayres and/or W.R. Kaufman and the contractor was William M. Rice. The Classical Revival style courthouse was built in 1919.
