Statue of Mary Lou Watkins (1917-2001)
A descendant of the Nutt Brothers, Granbury's founding fathers, Mary Lou was a preservation pioneer through her fierce determination and dedication. She led the fight to save the heritage of Granbury, her beloved hometown. Mary Lou gave Granbury the key to its future by preserving its historic Texas past to share with others. Her efforts resulted in Granbury becoming the first town square in Texas to be placed on the National Register. This is Mary Lou's enduring legacy.
Sculpted by Art Blevins.
