L. Q. C. Lamar House:ß Home of Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar from 1868 to 1888.ß Lamar was an educator at the University of Mississippi; a colonel 19th Mississippi Infantry C.S.A.; a U. S. congressman; senator; Secretary of the Interior; and an associate judge of the U. S. Supreme Court.ß This property was designated a National Historic Landmark on May 15, 1975.
